Priority or Priorities

“You are spending too much time in the Kingdom and not enough time with the King!” Those are hard words, but they are often true of those who serve in churches. I once had a person tell me that they were just too busy with church work to spend time with God. Of course, I wanted to get judgmental and rebuke them. Then I thought about my life and how many times I had let busyness cut my quiet time short or shut it down. It is often said that we have to get our priorities right. I think Jesus would say to get your priority right. “Seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

What would they say about me?

"Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are.” Matt 22:16
I read these words the other day and thought to myself that I would like to have this said about me. What a compliment they paid him. You have integrity. You teach the way of God according to the truth. You aren’t pressured by others’ opinions. Yes, they were his enemies and trying to trap him; but they saw the good in Him. I think Peter may have been thinking about this encounter when he wrote, “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” 1 Peter 2:12
